Last night's dinner at Willi's Seafood and RawBar in Healdsburg was excellent. I had heard about Willi's from a couple coworkers so we put it on the itinerary for dinner after our first day of tasting. Of course once dinner comes around on a tasting day, after five wineries and a very strong buzz, you're more desperate for a good meal than you ever imagined. This was the state we were in yesterday around 6 when we rolled into Willi's.
The great thing about Willi's is it has a great wine list, and a varied menu of small plates. I was wined out, so I had a couple downtown brown lager's to cut off the red wine headache, and we ate a bunch of amazing small plates. The menu is online.
We ate the following:
- Spinach salad with bacon dressing, bite size bacon pieces and sliced almonds
- Charred Rare Ahi with Avocado
- Dungeness Crab Louie Roll
- Maine Lobster with butter and fennel on a roll (warm lobster)
- Skirt Steak on a stick
- Pommes Frites with a goat cheese tipping sauce
- Bacon wrapped Scallops
It was a perfect ending to the night, which put both of us into a wonderful food coma and physically knocked us out for the night at around 8 PM.
