Earlier this week I had a client dinner at the CoCo 500 restaurant in San Francisco. It's located on the corner of 5th street & Brannan at 500 Brannan street. It's a Loretta Keller restaurant in the SOMA district of the city that has an Italian flavor. We also had two bottles of 2005 Lynmar Pinot Noir Quail Hill Vineyard for the meal.
For dinner we all tasted a flatbread mushroom pizza, some mole tacos that were outstanding and marinated olives. For my main course I had the special, sea scallops over a light wine reduction sauce. The meal was very good.
The wine was very good. I've been to Lynmar before, its outside of Santa Rosa (technically in Sebastopol) in Sonoma county. It's a small vintner who makes a couple Pinot Noir's and Chardonnay. This particular vintage is very good, nice fruit but light and easy to drink.
If you get a chance to drink Lynmar or eat at COCO 500, you won't be disappointed (or at least I wasn't!).
