August Briggs winery, located in Calistoga on the Silverado Trail, is a small producer (4kish cases a year) of mostly single vineyard Pinot's, Syrah's & Cabs. They also produce wine for Jeff Gordon on a separate label.
The wines are fruit bombish but with unique characteristics. The alcohol levels across the board are too high IMO which kill some of their taste (examples - 15.5% on the Syrah).
Overall I wasn't in love with any of the wines but they aren't bad, just not the Bordeaux or Burgundian style I prefer. The tasting room is nice, tastings are complimentary (big plus in Napa these days) so recommend giving it a try, especially if you enjoy the heavy fruit forward style.
