B Cellars, located on Silverado Trail in Calistoga, has been making wine since '03 but just opened up this tasting room 10 weeks ago. They are a relatively small producer (3.5k cases a year) that has ambitions to be bigger (based on the money spent on the tasting room).
B Cellars is a blend oriented wine making operation that includes a white concoction and several red blends. Their wine names reflect this as well - Blend 23 is their white (Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc & Viognier), Blend 24 is a cab Sauvignon, Petite sirah & Sangiovese mix, Blend 25 is a cab sauv & syrah combo.
The tasting room itself is beautiful, set on a pond with outside sitting, the room itself has exposed beams, airy in an inviting manner.
The wines are good but not spectacular, I applaud them for being different however they need to find a balance and tone down the alcohol / fruit forwardness to discover a more graceful place.
If you're in the Calistoga area and looking for something new, stop by, tastings are $15/person, and you will be exposed to something new.
Has anyone seen the VIMAX ads Yahoo is now advertising?
