Barnett Vineyards, up on Spring Mountain Road (on the edge of Napa & Sonoma counties) is a small producer (4k annual cases) that specializes on mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
Robert Parker put Barnett on the wine industry map with strong scores starting in '91. The nice thing about these cabs are they are a not just fruit bombs they also have a delicate nature to them that indicates they'd age gracefully.
Also their Pinot Noir's are nice, not over the top or confusing but rather a balanced, pleasant yet a healthy conglomeration of flavors.
Lastly the Barnett property overlooks the Napa Valley floor, it's a beautiful location to taste and enjoy the scenery. I highly recommend adding this and Pride Mountain Wineries to a wine country trip itinerary.
Barnett is awesome! Thanks for the lead.

Traveling Wine Chick, Thanks for fighting the tffraic and stopping by for a visit. Hwy 29 can be a beast on a sunny day, but were glad you enjoyed the wine. I certainly would have opted for the Sauvignon Blanc this weekend as well. As you saw the location is pretty prime, but the afternoons in the tasting room can be a little hectic. On your next visit to the valley we would love to host you in our club room for a private tasting. The club room is available to the public and can be reserved in advance for private & semi private experiences; a small charcuterie can be added to the tasting as well. Please give me a ring the next time your in the area so we can arrange something for you.
