Tonight, hosting a small, small as in two couple dinner, I realized my wino voice has been stifled by this faux desire to be PC and poetic. The reality is I'm not such a good writer anyway, especially when I'm forcing it. No, if I want to be true to myself I need to be me.

I had a work dinner tonight at Maverick's restaurant in the Mission district of San Francisco. It's classic American faire cuisine with interesting twists in an all natural, organic type of approach to the menu. That's becoming more of the norm rather than just a trend for SF restaurants, hopefully it will catch on across the country. We ordered a bottle of wine, an Italian varietal grown by Palmina, a Santa Barbera county winery (in Lompoc), called Dolcetto.

The 2nd dinner of our London summit was at a tapas style
restaurant by the name of Salt Yard. Located in the central London area of the city, near a bunch of bars & restaurants. Prior to dinner the English team had scheduled a visit to the London
Eye, an enormous ferris wheel like structure on the Thames that contains glass
tentacles, each of which hold up to twenty-five people that make a complete
turn, offering up expansive and beautiful views of the entire city. The meal was a nice capper on a great night.

Our last 'real' meal in Buenos Aires was a lunch at Guido's Bar, in the Palermo Chico area of the city (located on Republic of India, across the street from the zoo). Guido's is an authentic Italian restaurant that was outstanding.

I was in New York City this past week for work and met up with some clients at a wine bar for drinks Friday evening. The place, in the Chelsea area of the city, was called Bar Veloche.
